Apple Watch Ultra

The Apple Watch Ultra stands out amongst other Wearables thanks to its lightweight aerospace-grade titanium body, flat sapphire crystal face, larger diameter and deeper grooved Digital Crown, housing for the side button, and an additional physical button on the left side called the Action button.

The Apple Watch Ultra has the brightest display of any Apple Watch to date, reaching up to 2000 nits. The Action button may initiate Workouts, mark segments, establish Compass Waypoints, and more, and it is designed in international orange so it can be seen in the dark and underwater. Apple was able to fit a more powerful battery inside the bigger 49mm chassis. The Apple Watch Ultra has a standard battery life of up to 36 hours, but with the new low-power mode, it can last for up to 60 hours, making it ideal for trips that span several days. The battery life is sufficient for a full 26.2-mile marathon, 112-mile cycle ride, and 2.4-mile swim in a long-course triathlon.

Oceanic+ App

To check your current depth, maximum depth reached, water temperature, and time spent underwater, the Apple Watch Ultra comes with a built-in Depth app. The Oceanic+ app is a great resource for expert scuba divers.

An array of dive data, including current depth, dive time, no-decompression duration, water temperature, time to surface, maximum depth, ascending speed, battery level, gas mix selection (air or Nitrox mix up to 40%), and more, are shown on the Oceanic+. The app also has colour-coded safety alerts for things like exceeding the no-decompression limit or climbing too quickly.

The software also has a haptic feedback function, and various watch faces complications for things like no-fly time, surface time, easy access to the dive planner, dive settings, current elevation, maximum elevation permitted, and a quick access button back into the app.

Price and Availability

The software may be downloaded from the App Store as long as both the iPhone 8 or later and the Apple Watch Ultra are running watchOS 9.1 or later. The app’s free tier offers the standard features divers need, such as a depth gauge, a timer, and a history of your most recent dives. Users may keep track of decompression and tissue loading, and their logbook capacity is limitless for only $9.99 a month or $79.99 a year.

The watch displays information, including the user’s diving profile and GPS entrance and exit positions after a dive. When paired with the iPhone app Oceanic+, you can get more in-depth dive reports, tide predictions for the next three days, and more.
