Acer Launches NewWorks With Chromebook-Certified Dock for Business Productivity

Acer Middle East has expanded its range of Works With Chromebook-certified accessories with the Acer USB Type-C Dock D501, a new device that simplifies the process of connecting multiple displays or peripherals to a Chromebook. The dock has been put through significant testing and been confirmed to be meeting Chromebook’s compatibility standardsto assure users that it will work without any bugs with their Chrome OS devices.

Maximise Utility

Laptops offer convenience and portability, and their importance today is paramount as the remote working model continues to be accepted by corporations. However, some jobs require more screen real estate, and often times it’s more convenient to use a mouse than a trackpad. Peripherals provide working professionals with more flexibility to create a setup that works for them, and many take advantage of this with an external monitor—or two—a keyboard and mouse, perhaps a USB stick or external hard drive for backing up important data, and much more. A docking station allows all of these things to be connected by plugging in a single USB Type-C connector, keeping desks neat and minimizing the number of steps required to get up and running come Monday morning.

Acer USB Type-C Dock D501

The Acer USB Type-C Dock D501 (ADK020) simplifies the process of connecting a Chrome OS Device to up to three extended displays via DisplayPort and HDMI ports, making it an excellent choice for professionals who work with vast amounts of information and need more screen real estate than what a single screen allows. From there, six USB ports (4x USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A and 2x USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A) provide the freedom to connect any additional peripherals required for a given job. It also supports USB-C Power Delivery to charge devices via a USB-C connection and comes with a dedicated Gigabit Ethernet port for wired networking.

One particularly exciting feature is that the dock’s firmware can be updated while connected to a Chrome OS Device, ensuring maximum compatibility with the peripherals of today and ensuring that they can handle what’s to come in the future.

Other Works With Chromebook-Certified Accessories

The new D501 Chromebook dock is an addition to Acer’s existing range of Works With Chromebook-certified accessories, which currently includes:

  • The Acer Wireless Mouse M501 (AMR800) and Acer Wireless Mouse M502 (AMR020) offer 1,600 DPI and 1,200 DPI of sensitivity, respectively, enabling reliable and responsive navigation around the screen. The shape of the mouse has been designed to be comfortable for both right and left-handed users.
  • The Acer USB-C to USB-C Cable (ACB910) connects USB-C devices and peripherals, enabling users to charge their devices while simultaneously transferring data at speeds of up to 10 Gbps—and to utilize USB-C displays, hard drives and other peripherals without hauling a multitude of cords.
