This reaction system is often called tapback, and was first introduced by Meta, who initially rolled it out on Facebook, followed by Whatsapp and other platforms. Microsoft itself recently enabled this feature for their Microsoft Teams chat application, where users can pick from a number of emoji options.
While Microsoft Outlook will only feature the above-mentioned five emoji's with the initial rollout, the Teams app will soon be getting a full array of reactions, with up to 800 emojis available to pick from. This update will be rolled out sometime next month, with the company still in testing mode across a variety of platforms, including their desktop, Android and iOS app, as well as for web browsers and even on the Mac.
In other new additions, the Outlook email is also rumoured to be getting support for cloud-based email signatures, which will allow users to save and use a single email signature across multiple devices. Currently, users can only save their signatures on Windows devices, with no option to sync them across multiple platforms and devices.
