Meeting Updates
The Speaker View, which displays the active speaker and shared content in the centre of the screen with additional attendees at the top, is a really helpful addition to the meetings-related enhancements. The screen won’t be completely re-rendered if someone toggles their video on or off because the active speaker’s video is displayed at a higher resolution. The ability to switch between profanity filters in Live Captions, organiser support for Breakout Rooms for VDI users, and avatars with customisable interactions are a few additional useful features. A new Recap tab, which displays shared meeting notes, transcripts, and content provided during the meeting, is another way that Microsoft is improving the meeting experience. Users of Teams can also plan offline meetings, like lunch breaks, however, these meetings will not have a “join meeting” button, chat threads, transcripts, or recordings. When creating a regular channel, there is also a new Notes tab, which is something we have previously discussed as well. The redesigned Files app, which is powered by OneDrive and has a style that is more recognisable to Microsoft 365 users, is the final upgrade.
Call & Chat Settings
Authorised users can modify call queues and automated attendant greetings for a variety of use cases on the Teams Phone front. Organisations will be able to monitor compliance recording solutions coupled with Teams to make sure they adhere to policies when calls are forwarded. On Teams Phone devices, administrators can also specify a “busy on busy” setting that controls how incoming calls are handled while a user is currently in a conference call or has put a call on hold.
Security & Mobile Updates
A few improvements have also been made in the area of IT and security. Administrators can now instantly view their unused Microsoft Azure consumption commitment (MACC) in a new widget in the Teams Admin Centre, and they can now prevent anonymous users from reading chats. When it comes to mobile updates, we have a more thorough dashboard for the conversations page and a Call Health Panel for VDI and online users to track and fix call quality concerns. Users of Teams can benefit from the Collaborative Stage-view, Zero-Touch app install, and app suggestions based on the context of work in specific Teams areas when it comes to platform improvements.
