Apple’s Ultra Wideband technology is supported by HomePod to make connections to adjacent iPhones simpler. For hands-free control or to play audio from any device connected to your TV, HomePod can pair with Apple TV 4K. HomePod speakers may be used in pairs to make up a stereo system in your living room, or you can use several HomePods and HomePod Minis to set up a multi-room audio system. AirPlay now supports multi-room audio, enabling you to manage additional HomePod speakers from your phone, MacBook, or other devices.
Features
The updated HomePod fits into the Apple ecosystem perfectly. It now includes temperature and humidity sensors that can also detect the sound of smoke and carbon monoxide alarms in your house. The sensors will enable you to set up routines that automatically change your heat or put on a fan based on the inside environment, in addition to receiving notifications. The Home app on your iPhone and other Apple devices that are connected will display information from the indoor sensors in the HomePod.
Security
In iOS 16, Apple redesigned the Home app and related smart home architecture to support more sophisticated smart home procedures and instructions. For home instructions, HomePod can distinguish up to six different voices. Users can also use the FindMy app directly from their HomePod to find a misplaced phone or find out where a relative is.
Since Siri voice requests and all other Apple smart home communications with the HomePod are encrypted, they cannot be eavesdropped on. HomePod will also make use of Matter, a new interoperability standard that enables secure communication between smart home devices and a variety of virtual assistants, including Siri, Alexa, and Google Home.
Price & Availability
On February 3, the new Apple HomePod will be available for $299 in all Apple stores worldwide. Pre-orders are currently being taken for the black and white colour variants.
