Performance
Two of the newest XD (extreme dynamic) linear motors combined with control algorithms offer AF performance that is high-precision, low-vibration, and fast. It can be used in conjunction with the concurrently announced Alpha 9 III to provide 120 frames per second of continuous high-speed photography with AF/AE tracking. This enables you to film situations where the subject moves swiftly, like in sports or animal scenes, or scenes where the subject moves irregularly, like in events, without missing an opportunity to capture dynamic topics. Furthermore, excellent AF performance is shown even with the separately purchased teleconverter connected.
Portability, Mobility and Operability
The FE 300mm F2.8 GM OSS is the lightest lens in its class thanks to extensive weight reduction techniques; it weighs about 1470g (without the tripod attachment) and was developed with weight balancing in mind. Durable magnesium alloy is used in the internal lens barrel to achieve excellent resilience and lightweight. Because the weight is distributed evenly throughout the lens barrel, it is extremely stable and enables precise and quick panning when using a handheld camera. Furthermore, you can shoot dynamic scenes with accuracy thanks to MODE3, which optimises the image stabilisation system and offers improved viewfinder stability. Furthermore, you can designate the function ring as “preset focus” while utilising the Alpha 9 III, which enables you to rapidly shift the attention to any position 6. In addition, the camera boasts comfortable operation that facilitates professional photography, such as focus hold buttons positioned in four different places that let you designate your preferred camera body functions.
Features
The G Master’s stunning bokeh and high-resolution performance bring the subject to life and record important moments in a variety of contexts, including wildlife, sports, news, and events. The entire frame is achieved with great resolution and contrast thanks to an inventive optical design that employs three Super ED glass elements and one ED glass element to efficiently reduce chromatic aberration. Excellent contrast and resolution are preserved to the image borders, giving cropping and editing even more flexibility. It is possible to follow subjects with great precision even when their movements are complex and varied. It reduces fatigue during extended handheld shooting sessions, making it the perfect match for lightweight camera bodies. Additionally, it may be used with an optional teleconverter, which lets you take pictures in the telephoto range of up to 600 mm.
The 300 mm focal length and F2.8 maximum aperture of the lens are perfectly matched by the gorgeous, creamy bokeh that is a hallmark of G Master design. This allows for the employment of a narrow depth of field to highlight subjects against the background. To maximise bokeh quality, every lens is precisely calibrated during the manufacturing process. A circular aperture device with eleven blades helps create smooth ball bokeh.
