Lenovo Launches New ThinkPad Z Series Laptops

Lenovo just announced a new series of ThinkPad laptops featuring a contemporary design philosophy targeting a different business user audience. The unique thing about these designs is the conscious use of more sustainable materials such as recycled aluminum, or recycled black vegan leather. Sustainability extends to the packaging as well, which is made from 100% recyclable and compostable bamboo and sugarcane, and the AC power adapter uses 90% Post-Consumer Content (PCC).
This is an integral part of the identity of the new ThinkPad Z13 and Z16 laptops, which feature a sophisticated yet minimalist look, with ultra-narrow bezels and a productive 16:10 aspect ratio. There is a special communications bar which houses a new FHD webcam with a larger 1.4µm sensor and dual-array microphones. The new models also get a larger 120mm glass haptic ForcePad that flows seamlessly with the all-glass palm rest. The rest of the look is also pretty understated, but that doesn’t affect the build quality though, as all components are tested to MIL-Spec 810H standards and undergo the same stringent quality controls as all ThinkPad laptops.
The updates to the ThinkPad Z13 and Z16 also include the newly launched AMD processors. In fact, these will be amongst the first laptops powered by the very latest AMD Ryzen™ PRO 6000 Series processors for mobile that also feature the Microsoft Pluton security processor.
The base models get Ryzen Pro U series processors, while the Z16 features Pro the H series. The ThinkPad Z13 also gets the exclusive AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 6860Z processor, while the ThinkPad Z16 can be configured with the new AMD Radeon RX 6500M discrete graphics. When paired with these Ryzen processors, AMD Smart Shift Max offers an instantaneous power boost for both CPU and GPU, and Smart Shift Eco is designed to maximize battery efficiency.
The state-of-the-art internals power a vivid touch-enabled 2.8K OLED display on the Z13. The Z16 gets updated to a 4K OLED with Dolby Vision support. The Dolby support continues with a Dolby Atmos Speaker System and Dolby Voice AI noise cancellation technology. All of this runs on Windows 11, which comes preloaded with these models. You can get them at a starting price of around $1549 for the ThinkPad Z13, and $2099 for the ThinkPad Z16.
