The base model of ThinkPad X1 Nano comes with an 11th Generation Intel Core i5-1130G7 CPU with 8GB of RAM, a 256GB SSD and a 13-inch, 2K panel. The next variant has an Intel Core i7-1160G7 CPU with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. The top model comes with a Core i7-11650G7 CPU, 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD. X1 Nano’s Iris Xe integrated graphics are powerful enough to run graphics-intensive programs and even casual game at decent frame rates. The ThinkPad X1 Nano’s 720p camera is decent under normal lighting conditions.
The X1 Nano comes in the classic ThinkPad design, but with a smaller, lighter chassis. This like a folder, it measures 12.7 x 8.5 x 0.55-0.66 inches. There is a fingerprint sensor on the deck and top-firing speakers right above the keyboard. The black-on-black colour scheme is elegant to look at and work with. The only colour you can see is red, around the touchpad, pointing stick and illuminated ThinkPad “i”. It has been designed to meet military-grade durability standards and can survive high altitudes, shocks, vibrations, fungus exposure and other extreme conditions. There’s a fingerprint sensor and IR camera for biometric login via Windows Hello for users’ privacy. However, it has no USB Type-A ports.
Its simply amazing how Lenovo managed to put a quad-speaker setup in the X1 Nano, along with a pair of top-firing drivers above the keyboard and another underneath. This results in excellent sound quality.
This small notebook lasts for around 12 hours after continuous web surfing over Wi-Fi at 150 nits of brightness. This is simply incredible as it means one can leave the charger at home a lot of times! Its efficient CPU brings the X1 Nano’s battery life above some big competitors in its segment.
The ThinkPad X1 Nano is essentially a smaller, 13-inch version of the excellent X1 Carbon. The X1 Nano impresses in design with soft-touch carbon and magnesium materials with military-grade durability. It has impressive security features — an IR camera and a fingerprint sensor.
