Lenovo ThinkVision P27U-10 Review

This affordable 4K monitor by Lenovo is designed especially for colour-critical use cases. Let’s find out more about this brilliant device.

Features

The ThinkVision P27u-10 features a borderless 27-inch IPS 3840×2160 display with multiple colour spaces (99.5% AdobeRGB, 145.7% sRGB, 97.9% DCI-P3, 99.5% BT.709). The P27u-10 features an HDMI port, DisplayPort, USB 3.0, and USB Type-C in the connectivity department. This monitor also has a single cable for UHD resolution that can display, transit, and charge using merely one USB Type-C cable. This makes for easy cord management and clutter-free operation. Also, one of the four USB 3.0 ports is BC1.2, which comes in very handy for fast-charging compatible devices. Lenovo’s ThinkVision P27u-10 monitor is TUV Eye Comfort certified, so we had an easy viewing experience overall. It also comes with Lenovo’s ThinkColor display management software that features a wide range of functionality for easy management of the display.

Design

The ThinkVision P27u-10 monitor comes in a lovely black design with minimal top and side bezels. Offering multiple VESA mounting options, the display features better colour quality than most other large displays that we’ve used so far. The main video connectivity panel can be found on the backside, and this includes the HDMI, DP, USB-C and power ports. The side edge sports four USB 3.0 ports and an audio jack. Lenovo’s P27u-10 sits on a circular ergonomic stand that allows for impressive levels of manoeuvring. The buttons on the monitor are located at the front and are relatively easy to access. The OSD is simple to use, and the monitor also has a control that allowed us to move out of the sub-menus and ultimately exit the OSD. There’s also an option to lock the OSD to prevent accidental changes in settings.

Performance

We genuinely look at the Lenovo ThinkVision P27u-10 as a premium productivity monitor that comes with a large, high-resolution screen and incredible colour accuracy for photographs and still images in the sRGB and Adobe RGB colour spaces. Lenovo’s P27u-10 packs a complete set of ergonomic features that even includes pivot control which is super useful for photographers as they can use this to view images in portrait orientation. The ease of access to the downward-facing ports is also quite convenient. Coming to the colour-gamut coverage, the P27u-10 does a reasonably good job with sRGB covering 96.8 per cent of the colour space, and Adobe RGB with 97.9 per cent coverage. The monitor also does a great job with DCI-P3, given its 95.1 per cent coverage.

Conclusion

This is a fantastic monitor from Lenovo as it is small enough to fit on any workstation desk easily but still large enough to provide ample screen space. Lenovo’s P27u-10 monitor is terrific for its brilliant display, accurate colours, and wide range of connectivity options, making it an ideal ally to anyone’s workstation. We love that it features a single cord connection for both the video output and the power source.
