The Mercusys MR70X is a dual-band AX1800 WiFi 6 router with OFDMA support. It is equipped with 4 multi-directional high-gain antennas with Beamforming to boost stable connections throughout one’s home for strong WiFi signals in every corner. All the ports are on the back of the router – a single Gigabit WAN port and 3 Gigabit LAN ports. There’s a decent chunk of heat spreader inside, which acts as a heatsink and helps the router cool down.
Mercusys MR70X runs stable and reliable firmware; the interface is relatively fast and responsive, too. We did not encounter any firmware crash during our usage. All the basic software features are present on this, and we didn’t feel there was anything vital that was missing. Security-wise, the router exceeded our expectations again. The Mercusys MR70X supports the latest WPA3 wireless security – cheaper routers usually skip on upgraded security features, but Mercusys has definitely got its priorities right.
