Features
The suffix for AMD machines is X600, whereas the suffix for Intel devices is B760. B/BB most likely refers to computers that are stripped-down and lack storage or RAM, whereas BOX refers to systems that are fully functional. The fact that the B760 chipset was mentioned makes it clear that the models would include mini-ITX motherboards with this new chipset. 20 PCIe 4.0 lanes and 16 PCIe 5.0 lanes are also likely to be present. However, the X600 motherboards from AMD are not entirely clear. The X670 chipset, which has 4 PCIe 5.0 lanes for NVMe storage solutions but no PCI 5.0 lanes for a discrete GPU, is implied by the name.
Limitations
ASRock’s DeskMini and DeskMeet models were originally limited to 65W TDP processors. If ASRock is to maintain this limit on the upcoming models, the most recent desktop-grade processors from AMD and Intel would be too powerful, given that AMD has a 105W minimum TDP and Intel has a 125W minimum. Only mobile processors would work with tiny PC models in this case.
Price & Availability
These new mini PCs are available on the official website of ASRock as well as on Amazon. The prices of the different variants of both DeskMini and DeskMeet range from $195 to $400. International shipping costs will depend on the country.
