Design & Build Quality
The new Geek Pro G5000 is expected to feature a stealthy and stylish new body that features a matte black unibody design in dark black and blue colour options. The body features a special fingerprint-resistant coating in addition to the matte finish, which makes it even better for people who dislike glossy finishes.
The laptop is expected to have a full-size keyboard, including a number keypad, a large trackpad, and hopefully some sort of fingerprint and/or face ID technology. The sides feature large vents, with barely one or two ports, while the rest of the IO is located in the back, along with more vents for cooling or speakers. These include a USB-A 3.1 port, a USB-C Thunderbolt port, a 3.5mm headphone jack and an HDMI port. Given the images showcased so far, you will at least have 15 and/or 17-inch screen sizes to pick from.
Specifications
The laptops are expected to feature the latest in display technologies, with high-refresh-rate panels and vibrant colour reproduction. Depending on the model, you can expect to get either a high-speed IPS panel or a high-resolution OLED display. Both are great for gaming and media consumption and will take a chunk out of your battery life.
The system is expected to be powered by the latest Intel Core processors, along with Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 4050 GPU for laptops. The graphic card is as hardcore as the processor and features a max TDP of 95W. You will be able to modulate the curve to get 50% performance at half the battery draw. This new generation of RTX 40 series GPUs brings support for AV1 video-encoding codec and Nvidia’s latest DLSS 3.0 graphics technology. This will be great for power users, even though you are limited to just 6GB of GDDR6 VRAM.
Price & Availability
Lenovo has not given out any details regarding the pricing of the Legion gaming laptop, but considering it has an RTX 40 series GPU, we can expect it to easily touch the $1000 mark in the top configuration. We will know more when the laptop is launched sometime in the next few months.
