Design
The Starfighter laptop's design is quite remarkable. The laptop seems sturdy at first sight. The laptop's design features some really innovative additions, like a camera that can be detached from the top and attached to the panel via a snap-on mechanism. The glass touchpad utilized in the laptop prevents fingerprints from staying put. The sound is improved by the inclusion of two 4W front-firing speakers.
Specs
The flexibility of this device is unmatchable. You can change the specifications of the laptop according to your need while you order it. Using a Starfighter couldn't be easier. The StarFighter comes standard with an Intel i3 CPU from the 13th generation, and you can upgrade to an i7 from the 11th generation, an AMD Ryzen 7 (6800H), or even an Intel i9, all of which include built-in graphics.
The maximum amount of memory that may be installed in a computer ranges from 16GB to 64GB. However, this number might be lower or higher depending on the CPU. Additionally, you can choose between two other possibilities, with storage capacities ranging from 240GB to 2TB PCIe Gen 4 SSDs. You can add another 2TB on our own, thanks to easy upgrade access. There are two sockets for SODIMM memory modules and two for M.2 SSDs. The laptop also includes a backlit keyboard, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3 compatibility, and more.
Display
This gadget offers a wide range of customization possibilities, including two different display sizes. A 16:10 4K panel with a 60Hz refresh rate is your best bet for smooth, high-resolution gaming. Energy efficiency suffers as a result of this.
However, a 16:10 1440p display with a refresh rate of 165Hz is the way to go if you're hoping for a longer battery life. In addition, this panel will use almost as much energy as a full 4K display. This ensures a longer period of battery life.
Privacy Upgrades
Starfighter's primary concern is with protecting its users' anonymity. Typically, hackers gain access to a laptop via malware and then monitor the user's every move via the camera without the user's knowledge. A 2MP camera that can be removed from the panel when it's not in use is included as a countermeasure. The camera can be stored safely in the designated area of the laptop. Protection of personal information is ensured.
A "Kill Switch" was also implemented for the sole purpose of protecting user confidentiality. If you push this button, your wireless connections will immediately stop working. When something strange is happening on your laptop, this is a great tool to have on hand.
Operating System
You may choose between the proprietary American Megatrends BIOS/UEFI firmware and the open-source Coreboot firmware for your laptop. In addition, several other Linux distributions are available for pre-installation, and consumers may choose the one they like. If you truly want Windows, they can also install it for you. On the other hand, if you're not interested in using any OS, that's a choice too. Personally, I have no qualms about taking advantage of this no-OS option.
Price and Availability
Due to the device's adaptability, there is no set cost associated with it. What you're looking for will determine the cost. The more individualized an item is, the higher the price will be. The base configuration of the laptop costs $1677. You can only pre-order the laptop now, as it is not ready for shipment yet. Although deliveries of these won't start until the first half of 2019, they're likely to begin around the springtime.
