Design
The NexPad comes with a slim and flat design, which features a laminated AMOLED display housed on top of a large plain area that is meant to act as a handhold section or device mount. This curved base features a metallic finish and comes with built-in magnets that let you secure your phone in place so that it can act as a secondary screen for content or typing. The display itself is a 12-inch IPS touchscreen panel, which supports an FHD+ resolution and a standard 16:9 aspect ratio. You can connect your smartphone to the display with a USB Type-C cable, which is provided with the package.
Connectivity
Once connected, the NexPad acts as a secondary screen for your smartphone. You can secure the smartphone to the body and then prop it all up using the built-in kickstand that features a nice smooth cloth-like finish. It even has a separate space to hold your connectivity cable for times when you are using the NexPad as a basic multimedia device.
The NexPad features a special desktop mode to take full advantage of this setup, where you can either use both displays at the same time for more usable real estate or turn your smartphone into a miniature keyboard. With a lot of smartphones these days also coming with their own docking mode, this should enable a whole host of accessibility options. You can even add other devices to the mix, thanks to the presence of standard WIFI and Bluetooth, as well as a dedicated Mini HDMI 2.0 port, two USB Type-C ports, and a basic USB 2.0 data transfer port.
