Design
The size of the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti could be comparable to that of the GeForce RTX 4080 or GeForce RTX 4090. It will still have a triple-slot design and measure 326.5mm in length (12.85 inches). The weight of the graphics card will be 1.52kg (3.35 lbs). Of course, there are some cosmetic changes that have been done by Colorful to make it seem different from the original 4080, but most of the design and build are carried over as it is.
Specifications
The GeForce RTX 4070 Ti is powered by the same silicon die as the GeForce RTX 4080 12GB, designated AD104 (Ada Lovelace). Up to 7,680 CUDA cores are housed on the 295 mm2 chip. It will most likely use the complete chip, which means that in addition to the 7,680 CUDA cores, it will also have 240 Tensor cores and 60 RT cores available to it in order to handle all sorts of graphics-intensive processing.
The memory subsystem from the GeForce RTX 4080 12GB is still present in the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti. The graphics card will also include 12GB of fast GDDR6X memory with a 21 Gbps clock speed. It would have a memory bandwidth of up to 504 Gbps with a large 192-bit memory interface, which is roughly 30% less than the GeForce RTX 4080’s standard performance.
Limitations
The GeForce RTX 4070 Ti will maintain a 285W TDP, just like the GeForce RTX 4080 12GB. Sadly, the graphics card continues to use the faulty 16-pin power connector (12VHPWR), which has broken a number of GeForce RTX 4090 graphics cards. The new card is more than content with two 8-pin PCIe power connectors, or even three for models that have been factory overclocked significantly, given the lower TDP. However, using the 16-pin power connector on the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti doesn’t make sense considering the entire meltdown incident connected with the connector.
Price & Availability
Initially announced at a price of $899, NVIDIA has now decided to lower the price because of the competition (AMD) and let it be accessible to more people. The new price is not announced yet. But, chances are that global shipping might start very soon.
