New Range Of HDDs
The new 22TB line of WD Purple HDDs from Western Digital is designed exclusively for smart video. This line consists of three product solutions: the WD Purple Pro HDD, WD Purple HDD, and WD Purple microSD card. These devices deliver dependable, surveillance-class storage that has been tested for compatibility with a wide range of smart video systems.
They help in improving total video playback efficiency. Up to 64 single-stream HD cameras and the most recent smart cameras that transmit multiple streams can be accommodated by WD Purple Pro discs. With an MTBF of up to 2.5 million hours, it provides exceptional dependability for cutting-edge smart video solutions that run continuously.
Ultrastar Series
To support cloud service providers, VSaaS providers, telcos, and system integrators, the Ultrastar DC HC570 22TB CMR hard drives have also been launched. These drives help users store more data and movies in the same space, save total cost of ownership (TCO), and contribute to environmental goals by providing the greatest CMR areal density in the industry.
This hard drive also has a cutting-edge feature of OptiNAND technology that combines the performance of write cache enabled (WCE) mode with the data protection of write cache disabled (WCD) mode, giving users the best of both worlds without compromising on performance.
New Storage Platform
The company is giving out a live demonstration of the new storage platform system, the Ultrastar Data102, which is designed to meet the rigorous storage requirements of large enterprise customers, storage OEMs, cloud service providers, as well as resellers and integrators who need dense, shared HDD. The Data102 offers up to 2.2PB of raw storage in 4U using the company’s 22TB CMR HDDs in a small and effective form factor, with special IsoVibeTM and ArcticFlowTM technologies for a cool, stable operation.

The prices of the WD Purple HDDs, Ultrastar DC HC570 and Ultrastar Data102 are not made public. They are exclusively showcased at the 2023 edition of Intersec Dubai, which started today and will go on till January 19 at the Dubai World Trade Center.
