We were able to get a hold of the latest Realme GT 5G smartphone which holds the title for being the least expensive smartphone to be powered by the Snapdragon 888 chipset. It has been unveiled in the Indian and Chinese markets and is likely to be available across other regions within the coming few weeks. Here’s everything you need to know about the latest 5G phone from Realme:
The Realme GT 5G comes with a 6.43-inch touch screen and is driven by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor. It boasts of an8GB RAM and runs on Android 11 giving it a superior and seamless experience. This latest smartphone from Realme is powered by a long lasting4500mAh battery which even supports proprietary fast charging. It also has an impressive 64MP triple camera set-up on the rear and a 16MP selfie camera on the front.
The Realme GT 5G follows a design philosophy that has been inspired by racing cars and gives tribute to speed. We particularly liked the Racing Yellow variant, which is made using vegan leather and gives the phone a peppy yellow back side that has a black stripe along the cameras. The other colour variants available are Silver and Deep Blue which are made out of 3D curved glass. The phone features a minimal back design with just the rectangular camera set-up on the top left corner.
GT has a 6.43-inch Super AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution. It boasts a refresh rate of 120Hz and a touch sampling rate of 360Hz. It covers 100% of the DCI-P3 colour space which delivers some excellent colour accuracy.
The Realme GT is the most reasonably priced phone to be powered by the Snapdragon 888 chipset with 5G. It is built on the 5nm process and comes with the Cortex X1 core to deliver super high performance. The UFSS 3.1 storage capability and LPDDR5 RAM make it all the more better to use. Moreover, the chipset is cocooned by a cooling structure consisting of a stainless-steel frame and vapour chamber for optimized air circulation and thermal performance. It also holds128GB of in-built storage which means most people will hardly ever have an issue with space on this phone, even without an SD card.
Realme GT 5G’s 65W Super Dart charging is worth a mention as it means that its massive 4,500mAh battery can be charged from zero to 1full in less than thirty five minutes. It lasts for over a day easily and we only felt the need to charge it once in one and a half days with moderate usage.
There’s a triple-camera setup on the back of the Realme GT that features a 64MP f/1.8 primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor and a 2MP macro camera. On the front, it sports a 16MP selfie camera.
Overall, this is a groundbreaking phone that offers a faster processor at a lower price. With no other phone in the market currently being powered by this processor available at this price, the Realme GT 5G is definitely worth consideration.
