We’ve been able to get our hands on the latest Realme GT 5G phone which holds the title for being the cheapest smartphone with the Snapdragon 888 chipset. It has just been unveiled in the Indian and Chinese markets and should be available across other regions within the next few weeks. Here’s all you need to know about the latest 5G phone from Realme:
Realme GT 5G smartphone comes with a 6.43-inch touchscreen display and is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor. It packs 8GB of RAM and runs on Android 11 to give a superior and seamless experience. The latest smartphone from Realme is powered by a massive 4500mAh battery which even supports proprietary fast charging. It sports an impressive 64MP triple camera set-up on the rear and a 16MP selfie camera on the front.
The Realme GT 5G smartphone adopts a design that has been inspired by racing cars and aims to provide a tribute to speed. We simply loved the Racing Yellow variant, which is made out of vegan leather and offers a peppy yellow back side that has a black stripe along the cameras. The other colours variants available are silver and deep blue which are made of 3D curved glass. The phone features a pretty minimal back design with just the rectangular camera set-up on the top left corner.
GT sports a 6.43-inch Super AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution. It comes with 120Hz refresh rate and a 360Hz touch sampling rate. It is amazing that it covers 100% of the DCI-P3 colour space – this delivers some excellent colour accuracy.
The Realme GT is the most reasonably priced phone that is powered by the latest Snapdragon 888 chipset with 5G. It is built on the 5nm process and is equipped with the Cortex X1 core to deliver superior performance. It’s UFSS 3.1 storage and LPDDR5 RAM make it even better to use. Also, the chipset is covered by a cooling structure that consists of a stainless steel frame and vapour chamber for better air circulation and thermal performance. It also backs 128GB of in-built storage which means most people will hardly have an issue with space on this phone, even without an SD card.
The phone’s 65W Super Dart charging is worth mentioning as it means that it’s massive 4,500mAh battery can be charged from 0 to 100% in less than 35 minutes. It lasts over a day easily and we only felt the need to charge it once in 1.5 days with moderate usage.
There’s a triple-camera setup on the back of the Realme GT that features a 64MP f/1.8 primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide shooter and a 2MP macro camera. On the front side, it sports a 16MP selfie shooter.
All in all, this is a great phone that offers a better processor at a cheaper price. With no other phone in the market currently running on this processor available at this price, the Realme GT 5G is definitely worth considering.
