Design
The Galaxy Z Fold 5 will reportedly have a waterdrop-shaped hinge, allowing the device’s two sides to lay completely flat against each other. This would increase the foldable’s durability. It is also expected to have a 6.2-inch cover screen, similar to its predecessor. The smartphone will be waterproof. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 will only be tested for 300,000 folds, whereas some competitors are tested for 400,000 folds. It also implies that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 will be slightly thinner and lighter than the Z Fold 4.
Camera
The Galaxy Z Fold 5 will have a triple-lens rear camera with a 50MP main sensor. That is exactly what the Galaxy Z Fold 4 has, with the other two sensors being a 12MP ultra-wide and a 10MP telephoto, so there may not be many camera upgrades.
Specifications
The foldable Galaxy Z Fold 5 will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. It would be the successor to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipsets, which power many of 2022’s best Android phones, including the Galaxy Z Fold 4. It is the same processor that powers Samsung’s Galaxy S23 series of smartphones. The Z Fold 5 will be available in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage variants.
Price & Availability
The price of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 is expected to be somewhere around $1,799, which is near the price of the previous Galaxy Z Fold 4. There is no information about the release date, but we expect it to happen around mid or end of 2023.
