Design
The watch features a simple and basic design, which looks a lot like the existing Oppo watch, which comes with a curved AMOLED display. However, this model's screen looks a bit flatter, with smaller screen size and side profile. You get the same metallic finish and the plastic bands which come in ink grey and mist purple colour options.
There is a physical button on the right and what appear to be speaker vents on the left. The company has not given out any details regarding the IP rating of this new model, but if the original watch is any indication, it must be at least water-resistant.
Smart Features
As we mentioned above, the Watch SE comes with support for eSIM as well as WIFI connectivity. This allows you to not only operate apps but also make phone calls without the need for a smartphone. There is also support for multi-function NFC, which enables many smart features such as digital payments, access control cards, turn-by-turn navigation, dynamic taxi reminders, and smart pairing.
You also get full-scene sleep tracking, which includes bedtime reminders, sleep monitoring, and post-sleep analysis. Even up to 100 sports modes are built into the system to help you track all sorts of physical activities. The results of which can easily be seen on the Always On display that is enabled by default.
Even with all these features, the company claims that the watch will still be able to deliver 10 days of battery life in light smart mode, with charge speeds fast enough to deliver another full day's worth of recharge in just 10 minutes. Even though we don't know the exact battery size, this much battery life is easily half of what is promised with the regular Oppo watch so we can expect at least 230mAh capacity.
Price & Availability
For now, the Oppo Watch SE is available only in China, with the company planning an international launch soon. Since the SE tag is generally reserved for the more budget-friendly offerings from the brand, we can expect it to be a lot cheaper than the original Oppo Watch, which is currently retailing for around $180.
