The function would give customers greater precise insight into their cycles, but it is not entirely clear what exactly those insights will be. There are many variations of advanced period tracking and digital fertility features. For instance, the brand Apple provides retrospective ovulation predictions to users who are menstruating using the temperature sensors on the Apple Watch Series 8 and Ultra.
But it doesn’t use that temperature information to forecast ovulation in the future. On the other hand, the Oura Ring’s smart ring’s Gen 3 version introduced temperature-based period forecasts. Pregnancy and menstruation tracking are also offered by other wearable manufacturers, including Garmin.
Features
The main motive of the new capabilities in this integration is that they are primarily intended to help users examine their cycles simply, conveniently, and comprehensively, including past ovulation estimates and period predictions.
Samsung also offered some useful information on the feature, such as the fact that owners of the Galaxy Watch 5 or Watch 5 Pro won’t need to download additional software to use it. It will instead be a component of the Samsung Health app. In order to enhance its mindfulness and sleep services, Samsung has already integrated apps like Calm and Sleep Cycle.
Availability
In the second quarter of 2023, the feature of period tracking in the Watch 5 Series in the Samsung watches will be accessible in 32 nations, including the US.
