Design
The prototype Sharp Head-Mounted Display weighs roughly 175g and is made up of an incredibly thin eyepiece and a very light virtual reality display. The prototype showcases Sharp’s extensive experience in the Smart TV segment as well as smartphone design. Long periods of time can be spent using the device without feeling stressed or worn out. It may be taken about effortlessly and folded up into a little size.
Quality
The VR display offers 4K content (two thousand pixels per eye), smooth reproduction and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The device offers a totally immersive experience in the world of VR. Additionally, it includes Sharp’s RGB colour camera module for polymer lens focusing, which is extremely quick. The image display feature enables the delivery of colourful visuals of the actual surrounding world. The user can show the surrounding images in a different window using a pop-up feature.
Features
Two monochrome cameras are built inside the Sharp virtual reality headset prototype to facilitate hand-tracking, which translates hand movements into actions in the viewable field. Altering the polymer lens’ thickness allows for faster image focussing than is possible with traditional devices. This feature makes it possible to use the headset without any type of controller.
Availability
The exact launch date and the likelihood of the prototype are still unknown. There is no information about when or even if the prototype will actually be launched. We can expect more information after a few months.
