Launched recently by Xiaomi in the UAE, the Mi Note 10 Lite is a phone we were quite excited to review after reading about its impressive specs next to a very comfortable price. We finally reviewed it and can safely say it’s a good buy. It offers a slight twist compared to the Mi note 10. This phone provides excellent features at an affordable price. That’s the best part about China-made phones; these guys certainly know how to power pack premium phones which not only look good with quality performance and a reasonable price tag.
Mi Note 10 Lite has a smart glossy look and a slim body which gives off a premium feel while holding it. On the right side, it has dual sim slots, volume controls and the power button. The top edge houses an IR blaster and a noise-cancelling microphone. On the bottom, it has a USB Type-C port, a speaker grille, a 3.5mm audio jack, and another (yes, another) noise-cancelling microphone. Mi Note 10 is currently available in three colours – Nebula Purple, Glacier White and Midnight Black. We enjoyed holding the nebular purple, it has a vibrant look and has shades of blue mixed with the purple. It is undoubtedly more eye-catchy as compared to its other two counterparts.
In The Box
The phone comes with a USB Type-C charging cable and adapter, and a soft spare case. The warranty card and user guide are inside the box as well. One may want to purchase a fancy looking cover for this device, but if you’re all about the functionality of a phone, then the protective silicon phone cover that comes with it should do the job.
The AMOLED display is excellent as it makes the colours look deep and rich. The in-screen fingerprint scanner unlocks the phone at a moderate speed, though we felt that it could be a bit faster. Since the sides of the phone do not feature the usual rectangle edges most other phones do, it might take users some time to get the hang of it. The side edges have a lovely curve to them and those of us who’ve rarely used a curved edge phone before only seemed to need a couple of days to get used to swiping and typing on this screen. Mi Note 10 Lite maybe not be an overpriced device, but Xiaomi certainly hasn’t compromised on the quality as has provided for gorilla glass 5 on both the front and back sides of the phone. This protects the phone quite a bit from routine drops and scratches. On the Mi Note 10 Lite, we felt the screen provides excellent clarity in viewing as well as a high touch sensitivity while typing and swiping. Switching between apps and windows are a smooth experience.
The phone runs on a massive non-removable Li-Po 5260mAh battery. It provides well over a day and a half of juice on routine usage. The 30W fast charger that comes with the device does its job quite efficiently to charge it at a quick pace.
The front camera is a 16MP, which is ideal for vlogging, blogging and selfies. On the rear of the unit is the quad-camera system of Mi Note 10 Lite that boasts of a fantastic 64MP primary sensor with an aperture of f/1.8, a 2MP macro sensor, an 8MP ultrawide sensor, and a 5MP depth sensor. The phone did prove itself to be quite decent in the photography department.
Videos can be recorded at 2160p @ 30fps, 1080p @ 30/60/120fps and 720p @ 960fps. The camera performs really well, and will easily take care of a blogger-type user’s photographic/video needs with ease under any lighting conditions.
Under The Cover
The Mi Note 10 Lite is equipped with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G chipset and comes with an Android 10 operating system with MIUI 11 interface.
All in all, the Mi Note 10 Lite is definitely a good phone with some power-packed specs like the quad-camera system and a massive battery. For the price of AED 1495, it easily takes compares to a flagship device. Great Lobbyist recommends this device for those looking for flagship specifications and a stellar deal.
