The A770 is the top-tier offering from the Arc series, which also features the mid-range A750 and the entry-level A380. The GPU is based on the ARC 7 platform, which features up to 32 Xe cores and a bunch of ray tracing units. It also comes with support for Intel XeSS, which is the company's homegrown AI-based image reconstruction and supersampling technology. This is their attempt to recreate NVIDIA's DLSS technology for their own GPUs.
The company is planning to launch two versions of this GPU, a standard model with 8GB memory and another Limited Edition unit with 16GB memory. Even though we are all looking forward to the Limited Edition, the company is still holding on to the final pricing details for the same. However, they have revealed the price for the standard A770, which will retail for a starting price of $329. The company has said that it will go on sale starting October 12, 2022.
This is the same price that the last generation NVIDIA RTX 3060 graphics card launched at the start of last year. Intel has chosen this price deliberately, as the A770 is expected to match the performance of the 3060 in terms of 1080p resolution gaming. While this isn't exactly flagship-worthy performance compared to current gen NVIDIA flagship GPUs, it is still a good starting step for a brand that is just getting into this market, with hopes of targeting a more budget-conscious customer base.
We will have to wait and see what the price of the Limited Edition A770 will come out to be. But if the price of this model is any indication, we can expect it to be around or under the $400 price point. Stay tuned for all the details about the same.
