LG XBOOM XL5
The LG XBOOM XL5 speaker features a large yet compact body that houses a comprehensive music system, feature two 2.5-inch tweeters and a large 6.5-inch woofer unit located in the middle of the body. The speaker features rubber soles on the bottom so you can stand it vertically, which makes it look like a slanted rectangular cube. The woofer unit is surrounded by a unique Multi Color Ring Lighting panel that offers various lighting effects and full RGB colour control. The speaker is hefty, at around 12kg, but is quite portable for the sound it produces.
LG XBOOM XL7
The XL7 is definitely larger than other Bluetooth speaker models and features wheels on the back, and at the bottom, so you can easily move the speaker wherever you want. The larger size also allows for a bigger 8-inch woofer and a larger LED lighting ring to match the same. In addition to the LED ring light, you also get a special LED panel that can showcase various pixelated animations, custom text, various colour and visual EQ patterns and effects, and much more. All of which can be controlled through your smartphone app. The added stuff does increase the weight to 14.7kgs, but it is not that big of a sacrifice for some added features.
Features
Both speakers feature a Dynamic Bass Optimizer that boosts the bass coming out of the woofer without distorting the sound itself. Both speakers also support the latest Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity, as well as a special Wireless Party Link system that lets you chain up to 10 speakers together. They are even a microphone and Karaoke Star feature preinstalled, so you can use the speaker for karaoke nights at home. Everything is powered by an in-built battery that lasts 12 hours on a single charge in the smaller XL5 unit, while the XL7 can last up to 20 hours.
Price & Availability
LG has not officially released the price for these new Bluetooth Speakers. Our guess is they will land around the $400 mark, with some ups and downs depending on your region and currency. We will keep you updated on any new information as they are released in all global markets.
