This new freezer features a simple and sleek rectangular box-shaped design that is as tall as the average countertop to help it blend in with other kitchen appliances. This means that you can stack all your food in multiple layers, with a special removable food basket for fruits and vegetables.
It features a recessed handle built-in to the top lid, along with physical rotary controls and a thermostat located near the bottom. You can remove the door seal for easy cleaning and take advantage of the wheels on the bottom for easy transportation. The cooling components themselves are hidden in the back behind a sealed panel to prevent dust exposure or accidental damage.
The cooling is done with the help of a special three-dimensional spatial refrigeration system, which can cool down food items at a rate of 0.75kg/h. This roughly translates to up to 18kgs in 24 hours. These figures can increase or decrease depending on the amount of food stored and the temperature settings chosen.
You can decide to go as low as -30ºC with this freezer, with various freezing modes meant for different food storage requirements. You can pick between micro-freezing, freezing, quick-freezing, and regular refrigeration. In fact, the system is smart enough to sustain food protection for up to 100 hours, even in the case of a power cut. All of this while maintaining a reasonable sound output of barely 37 decibels.
The MIJIA Freezer 203L is available for sale from the JD website at a starting price of $126. For now, it is only available in the Chinese market but is expected to be launched globally in the coming months.
