Previous Versions
The previous Dimensity 700, 800, and 900 series SoCs from MediaTek are being rebranded under the new Dimensity 6000 and particularly the Dimensity 7000 series. The move aims to streamline the company’s product line and give customers a more comprehensible naming scheme. The fundamental technologies and requirements largely stay the same. The Dimensity 1080 has been relaunched as the MediaTek Dimensity 7050.
Specifications
The CPU of the Dimensity 7050 SoC, which was created utilising TSMC’s cutting-edge 6nm process technology, consists of six 2.0GHz Cortex-A55 cores and two powerful 2.6GHz Cortex-A78 cores. The GPU has a Mali-G68 MC4, which supports UFS 3.1/2.1 storage standards and LPDDR5/4x memory. The processor’s interoperability and capabilities are further increased by its support for GNSS and the most recent Wi-Fi 6 standard.
Features
The Dimensity 7050 chipset can handle panels with resolutions up to 2520 x 1080 pixels and 120Hz refresh rates when it comes to display capabilities. With the capacity to handle lenses up to 200MP, 4K HDR video recording, and sophisticated capabilities like hardware HDR video, triple HDR-ISP, and MENR, camera support is very impressive. The Dimensity 7050 supports viewing of videos encoded in HEVC, H.264, MPEG-1/2/4, and VP-9 formats. It also supports encoding in HEVC and H.264 formats.
The Dimensity 7050 chipset-equipped devices are anticipated to significantly improve gaming performance. For customers to have a seamless gaming experience, MediaTek has implemented technologies including Wi-Fi Rapid Channel, a 5G HSR mode designed for gaming, and a super-hotspot energy-saving technology.
