Design
The HUAWEI nova 10 SE features a sleek and stylish look, with the same golden Star Orbit Ring and logo. The back panel gets the same glossy metallic finish that makes it look like a panel of a spaceship. The rings have been given a special diamond-like sheen to make the camera setup stand out. It is similar to the unique finish of the rest of the smartphone, which uses a special gravel processing technology to deliver a frosted look and feel.
It even gets an anti-fingerprint coating to ensure that the reflective surfaces don’t showcase smudges, oil, or water on the surface. Since the material is already scratch resistant, it makes the body that much more resistant to daily wear and tear and scratches. All of this is in an ultra-thin design body that weighs barely 184 g and is only 7.39 mm thick.
Internals
The setup is run by a Snapdragon 680G 4G processor, which is paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It also gets the latest Bluetooth and WIFI connectivity modules, GPS, and even NFC. You do miss out on 5G connectivity as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack. But the USB-C port makes for a decent replacement in this price range. All of this is powered by a decent 4500mAh long-lasting battery, which supports 66W HUAWEI SuperCharge. This is enough to take you from 0-100% in just 38 minutes, with an expected battery life of up to 12 hours on a single charge.
FullView Display
The Nova 10 SE gets a 6.67-inch OLED that supports up to 90Hz refresh rate and up to 270Hz touch sampling rate. It comes with 10K-Level Auto Brightness Adjustments, which automatically calibrates the screen brightness depending on the ambient lighting conditions. The display supports up to a billion colour reproductions of the P3 colour gamut, as well as support for HDR content and blue-light suppression. Lastly, you can even use a special Always-On Display mode to get the latest notifications without unlocking the phone itself.
Cameras
The camera system gets a major overhaul, with a new 108MP main sensor, which works in tandem with a special multi-frame fusion algorithm to shoot high-quality RAW images in all sorts of lighting conditions. This system automatically detects the lighting conditions of the environment and the direction from which the light is coming in relation to the subject of the shot. Then, it can tweak the brightness, contrast, and other settings, to deliver the best possible picture every time.
The Nova 10 SE also gets a 16MP selfie unit, which features a wide-angle lens for easy group selfies. In fact, it even features a special AI-powered beautification feature that is designed to work on individual faces separately to create the best selfies. This is made possible through a 4-in-one pixel fusion tech that improves visibility and quality in low-light environments.
You can also take advantage of the same systems while shooting videos, with the option to seamlessly switch between the front and rear cameras within a single video file. Another ‘Dual-View Video’ mode allows you to shoot scenes with a split-screen view and capture your own reaction while the scene unfolds in front of you. You can enable this mode while shooting or even use a separate shutter mechanism, which supports using the Huawei Watch 3, Huawei Watch GT/Fit Series and HUAWEI Band Series devices, to activate hands-free shooting.
