Text Updates
Users of WhatsApp may now copy text from photos, convey information without sending the image, and share jokes using modified memes. Users won’t be able to copy text from shared photographs for a single view, and this feature will only be available for WhatsApp on iOS for now. In addition to this one, WhatsApp users will be able to convert their photos into text-based stickers. Another tool will allow 30-second voice notes to be put as status updates instead of text, along with those received as forwards. WhatsApp has been testing design changes for both Android and iOS, including a redesigned chat attachment menu. While usernames are also planned to replace digits in chats and group chats to detect messages from unknown numbers, expiring groups are also part of a trial run for new features on iOS.
Voice Note Updates
In both individual and group chats, WhatsApp users could send voice messages in the past. The option to share an audio message as status was included in the most recent edition. Users are permitted to send spoken status updates for a maximum of 30 seconds, which is also the time allotted for video status updates. On the status preview screen, by selecting the colour palette button, you may also change the background colour of the status. For this, you have to start WhatsApp on your smartphone and swipe left to open the Status menu. Then tap on the pen icon in the bottom-right corner of the screen, tap and hold the microphone icon to start recording your voice and release the button when finished to view the preview. The final step is to submit your voice status update to the server by clicking the Submit button.
