Design
The build quality of the Red Magic 8 Pro is boxy. A volume rocker and power button are located on the smartphone’s left side, and shoulder trigger buttons, including a slider in red, are located on its right edge. Triple rear camera sensors are vertically mounted on the back panel in a pill-shaped module. The smartphone is available in two finishes: Void and Matte, the latter of which is a Black variety while the former is a translucent version. The transparent version has a glass back cover and a central metal frame. On the back panel, there is a built-in fan with RGB lighting.
Specifications
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor is housed in the Red Magic 8 Pro. It has an ICE 11 cooling system, which consists of composite graphene under the screen, a heat-dissipating plate for the vapour chamber, an air aluminium box, a turbofan, a high-conducting gel, and copper coils. The smartphone has 512GB of storage and up to 16GB of RAM. It is powered by a 6,000mAh battery that can handle 65W of charging. It also comes pre-installed with Red Magic 6-based Android 13.
Features
The Red Magic 8 Pro’s display features a 6.8-inch AMOLED screen with an FHD+ resolution, 1,300 nits of brightness, and a 120Hz refresh rate. It has a fingerprint scanner with an ultra-thin screen that is of the seventh generation and a heart-rate detection capability.
A second-generation 16MP under-display camera is also available. A 50MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro lens are all present on the back of the smartphone. The Red Magic 8 Pro also has an X-Axis Linear Motor, 3 Mics, and Dual Speakers. It also has Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 7, a USB-C port, and a 3.5mm socket for connectivity.
Price & Availability
Priced at $649, the Red Magic 8 Pro Matte option is offered in a 12GB + 256GB version. The 16GB + 512GB variation of the Void option can be purchased for $799. On Nubia’s official website, it will be available for purchase worldwide starting on February 2.
