The speculation of a potential Apple Music Classical app has been making rounds ever since the company acquired the popular classical music streaming service called Primephonic back in August of last year. The service was geared toward delivering premium-quality audio files for classical music pieces, providing handpicked expert recommendations regarding talented composers and furnishing extensive contextual details on repertoire and recordings.
Now, it seems like Apple is planning to bring the same to their services ecosystem in the form of an entirely new app interface. In addition to all the features mentioned above, this new version will also hopefully bring better browsing and search capabilities that have been categorized on the basis of composers and their repertoire. Other speculated features include detailed classical music metadata, high-quality lossless files, and much more.
We don't know when exactly this new app will be launched to the public at large, but if the references in the code are any indication, it might be sometime before the end of the year. It will most likely become yet another benefit added to the Apple One subscription bundle, which already features all sorts of value-added services for movies, music, news, and more.
