This is made possible by a tightly-integrated stack of seventeen custom neodymium drivers, including eight long-throw subwoofers in a SAM-powered (Speaker Active Matching) push-push configuration, and nine aluminium full-range speakers spread in between. This unique configuration of speakers features an in-built room calibration scan and cutting-edge beamforming techniques, to help cancel noise and improve spatialization. They all work together to offer exceptional sound immersion in a variety of environments.
To support this high-end audio experience, the soundbar features two new patented technologies, in addition to a host of existing proprietary technologies that help deliver this level of sound in an all-in-one compact device. The first one is ‘SPACE’, which actively upscales any content into Devialet Dione 5.1.2 audio channels creating an enveloping spatialization effect. The second one is called Advanced Dimensional Experience or ADE, which is a new digital signal processing technology, that uses beamforming to reinforce 3D immersion. Finally, the ORB enables the central sphere to adapt mechanically and acoustically to the position of the soundbar, maximizing sound restitution no matter where the soundbar is positioned.
Thanks to the inclusion of ADE technology, you can easily place Dione on a wall mount or flat on a piece of furniture. The internal gyro sensor automatically detects its position and adjusts the audio signal accordingly, to maximize impact and immersion. This also helps it blend seamlessly into any space, while its eye-catching central ORB offers a nod to Devialet Phantom's signature aesthetic.
In addition to these dedicated proprietary technologies, Devialet Dione embeds ADH analogue-digital amplification technology on a single 1cm² silicon die SOC, to provide unrivalled clarity of sound while greatly optimizing power consumption. The Dione is also compatible with Dolby Atmos, offering the latest innovations in multichannel and object-based audio.
Everything can be controlled via the Devialet app, which can also be used to perform the room calibration scan. You can also cycle between four default unique listening modes. Movie and Spatial modes actively convert stereo content into a full-fledged multichannel experience using SPACE algorithms; while Voice mode boosts the accuracy and intelligibility of podcasts and news programs. Music mode faithfully reproduces a stereo setup and disables all spatialization effects to deliver a more authentic sound.
