Design
This model comes with a whole new design, especially when you compare it with BenQ’s previously launched gaming monitors. BenQ Mobiuz EX2710 has three bezel-less edges, making it super sleek, and it comes with a matte black finish that is quite elegant in our opinion. In contrast, the gaming monitor’s stand features a metallic base that has a hint of red on the inner side. This eSports monitor offers 8.5 inches of depth and weighs light at just 6.2 kgs. Considering it's a 27-inch model, we’d say that’s pretty impressive!
Build
The chassis on BenQ’s EX2710 is super durable thanks to its thick plastics. The stand is robust and stable, too, making it a reliable device, overall. On the bottom edge, there’s a small device; this is the sensor for BenQ’s Brightness Intelligence Plus technology which automatically adjusts the screen according to ambient light. This gaming monitor also comes with a useful OSD joystick designed to handle its functions. Coming to the connectivity options, these comprise a DisplayPort 1.2 slot and two HDMI 2.0 ports, along with a 3.5mm jack for headphones. Also worth noting is the pair of treVolo speakers that come with the BenQ EX2710. They deliver some incredibly superior audio quality compared to the regular built-in speakers that monitors have.
Features
The 27-inch IPS panel monitor from BenQ offers a 1920 x 1080 resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, and a 1ms boosted response time with a contrast ratio of 1000:1. These specifications come together to make it a great gaming monitor, but there’s more. Mobiuz EX2710 is HDR10 compatible, but we genuinely believe that BenQ’s HDRi feature that it comes with does a considerably better job. Enabling 144Hz in games worked out to be fantastic, and helped us quite a bit during online FPS games as it really did empower us with a superior edge. It is also worth noting that the screen on this is capable of refreshing so quickly that it just makes everything look smooth and fluidic.
Display
This is where it gets a lot more fun! The EX2710 delivers an impressive 99% sRGB gamut coverage and 83% for DCI-P3, making it truly excellent for gaming. This comes along with tons of innovative features like super smart Light Tuner - it makes colours pop according to the gaming scenario being displayed. Some Colour Vibrance add-ons allow an incredible amount of customization when it comes to image settings. One of the most significant plus points of BenQ’s EX2710 is its extraordinary level of pixel responsiveness which renders blurring invalid. Moreover, it is a FreeSync Premium gaming monitor on which the calculated input lag is merely 4ms at 144Hz, so we experienced that there were close to negligible delays and hardly any instances of de-syncing. This is an ideal ally for gamers who enjoy a high degree of customizability.
Verdict
We honestly feel that BenQ’s Mobiuz EX2710 packs many innovative features for the customization of visuals while also offering a functional and elegant design. The eSports monitor is equipped with a powerful suite of advanced gaming features, which is quite the deal-maker for most gamers. We also appreciate that it comes in a decently sized panel which makes gaming at high refresh rates on a bigger screen an affordable reality.
