Design
The ViewSonic VG2755 monitor has been designed to look classy – it sports a sleek black slim-bezel design that adds quite some aesthetic appeal to one’s workstation. For users who want a particularly good-looking device, this might just be the one for them. The VG2755 has an ergonomic flat-base stand that has a combination of silver and black colours that complement its bezels really well. This stand isn’t just good to look at, it can be customized for a wide variety of adjustments including pivot, tilt, height adjustments and swivel. We were able to achieve a tilt of 40 degrees, which let us work with comfort even while standing – this can prove to be an excellent tool for group discussions with co-workers.
ViewSonic’s VG2755 monitor boasts a frameless design, so several monitors can be placed edge-to-edge to create a multi-monitor configuration to offer more clarity for larger office spaces and groups of co-workers.
Performance
Considering the amount of screen time people find themselves invested in, the display becomes one of the primary aspects of an office monitor. BenQ’s VG2755 offers the regular 27-inch screen with Full HD resolution. While this is great, we found ourselves discussing the fact that may be able to procure a WQHD monitor in the same price range as this – somewhat not so great on the value-for-money front. But then again, the jump in the pricing can be attributed to the latest USB Type C port that it houses.
The display comes with a quality IPS panel that delivers excellent colour and sharpness. This display offers a much wider range of viewing angles as compared to those with TN panels. ViewSonic VG2755 operates with a 60Hz refresh rate, which is sufficient for an office monitor – so it doesn’t lag easily and delivers a glitch-free experience. This isn’t meant for gamers, as it is not a gaming monitor and should not be compared with one. It does a great job at handling casual gaming and office work to make an attractive office or home office buy.
Connectivity
ViewSonic VG2755 monitor supports a wide range of connectivity options which is a common area of concern with a number of monitors. This device comes with Displayport, VGA, HDMI, and a USB 3.1 Type C unlike any other monitor in VG2755’s price category. The USB 3.1 Type C port makes things super convenient since it provides charging power.
It also connects Audio and Video using a single connector to help reduce cable clutter – something most affordable monitors still don’t provide. Under the hood, it houses 2 x 2 Watt integrated speakers, which are great for office settings.
Verdict
All in all, being the first to offer USB Type C charging in its price segment, it does score high on our scale. We feel it’s an excellent buy for those who have a love for neat and suave workstations. It is an elegant device that does the job of a productive ally for your workforce, with scoring some goals in entertainment nets as well.
