Apple iOS 16.4 Update Launched

With New Emojis & Features

Apple iOS updates are something that Apple users always look forward to, which is very similar to Google Pixel feature drops that come with a slew of amusing adjustments, cosmetic overhauls, and security patches. The iOS 16.4 update, which Apple first unveiled last month, is already trickling out to iPhones and iPads. These updates are also available for the Mac, including MacOS 13.3 and WatchOS 9.4 for the Apple Watch.

Emoji Updates

In the latest iOS version of 16.4, 21 new emojis are included, including five new animals, two hand motions, three different coloured hearts, and a few everyday things like a folding fan, a flute, and maracas.

Feature Updates

The new iOS 16.4 update also includes some handy features, such as Voice Isolation for mobile calls, which eliminates background noise to make calls crisper and clearer. Also updated in Photos is the Duplicates album, which now verifies photographs in the iCloud Shared Photo Library to keep albums tidy and structured. Additionally, a new accessibility feature has been included that dims the screen to make it easier on the eyes when it detects flashing lights or strobe effects in video material.

The update also includes several bug patches that take care of small hiccups like unintended alarm muting and problems with managing content for parents. Customers have noted that the Home App does not display smart home devices and that some Siri commands do not function properly. Apple has also rectified the pairing issue with Apple-compatible devices, so these problems are now gone.

Availability

Apple will reintroduce the brand-new HomeKit architecture that was removed by iOS 16.2 and MacOS Sierra 13.1. To take advantage of these new capabilities, users will have to check their notifications and upgrade their Apple devices.
