Valve Docking Station
The new Valve Docking station comes with a special slot where you can place your handheld gaming console. It can be connected to the device with the help of a USB-C port, which also supplies power to the console. Since it doesn't come with any proprietary connector or software, users can use it with various compact gaming devices, as long as they have a USB-C port as well.
In addition to the USB-C connector, the Dock comes with various connectivity options, including three USB type-A 3.1 5Gbps ports, a DisplayPort 1.4, an HDMI 2.0 port, and a Gigabit Ethernet port. You can use these ports to connect a variety of accessories and external devices to the console, including an external monitor, keyboard and mice for a proper desktop-style gaming experience.
Steam Deck Reservations
In addition to the launch of the new docking station, the company also announced that it would finally be doing away with its reservation system for the Steam Deck itself. Until now, users had to put in reservations for the handheld gaming device since the company was going through various supply chain issues related to the pandemic and subsequent lockdowns.
Now, they have finally finished with their existing reservation queue and opened up the Steam Deck for general sale. Potential users can now simply go to the Steam Store and order the Steam Deck for a starting price of $399 for the base model and an additional $89 for the Dock itself.
