This year’s PMWI is split into two weeks with a Main Tournament and Afterparty Showdown. The Main Tournament will kick off on August 11th with 18 invited teams from across the globe competing on classic maps with a $2,000,000 USD prize pool on offer. The Afterparty Showdown will be hosted on August 18-20th with 12 teams competing for the remaining $1,000,000 USD.
The PMWI Afterparty Showdown includes the five top-ranked teams from the Main Tournament, five teams selected by fan vote from the Americas, Southeast Asia, MENA, South Asia, and Europe, as well as 7Sea Esports, the winner of Battlegrounds Mobile India Showdown (BMSD) 2022, along with one specially invited team. In the event that any of the qualified or invited teams are unable to compete, the next highest-ranked team will take the available PMWI Afterparty Showdown spot.
